all september - working retreat
1st to 30th September 2008

Come and help us create sustainable living systems in the wild landscape of the Serra de Carreau. Enjoy satisfying work, learn about sustainable technologies, meditate, study, and find refreshment and inspiration living simply in a place of great natural beauty.
Throughout the month of September the ecodharma centre is running a working retreat. While we really appreciate the help, you will share in creative and valuable work helping to create sustainable living systems. We will run a simple programme of meditation, around 5 hours of physical work a day, study options and free time. Meditation instruction is available. You can join in group yoga practice. Work will be allocated according to skills and interests. We will live as a community, sharing meals and basic chores. So, come and enjoy the beauty of the Serra de Carreau.

The work we will be carrying out includes:
• Building compost toilets.
• Setting up a solar shower system.
• Finishing a water supply system from one of the natural springs.
• Developing a new area of vegetable and herb gardens, including a swale based irrigation system and low terracing.
• Building wooden platforms for two Mongolian yurts.

Each week there will be a couple of full days off. There will be enough free time to get to know the wild parts of the mountains, swim in the river below, perhaps even do some climbing, or put in extra time to deepen your meditation practice. You can book to come for between a week and a month. We will give priority to people who want to stay for two weeks or more.

Suggested dana contribution: £40/€50 per week, offers of specific skills exchange welcomed.
